My interest in Toby Jugs was sparked many years ago, when as a young child I would occasionally accompany my grandmother to the local Pub in Bath, where she worked.
I remember behind the bar on a shelf, sat some figures, and although my memories of these jugs are vague, I recall being fascinated by these characters. I came to discover that these figures were Toby Jugs.
Many years later, a friend bought a box of china at a local auction sale, and in among the items were two small toby jugs. My friend didn't want them and gave them to me. That was it! - My interest was rekindled, and as they say ........... the rest is history.
Now, over 40 years later I have a varied collection and still enjoy digging around in antique shops and at flea markets looking for that extra special find.
